If what's secure enough? In all honesty, it's someone's personal preference on whether or not they want to use a VPN; I don't use a VPN and my anti-virus is set to its medium setting and I'm fine. So I would recommend doing whatever you feel is right to keep yourself safe.

Essentials is a plugin which simplifies all of the vanilla Minecraft commands and adds other necessary features. In order to install it, you're going to want to go into the Plugins tab on your Minehut control panel and in the "Search Plugins" look for "Essentials". This may be being caused by two factors: either a high amount of already online servers (Minehut has a 3450 maximum server limit; there are live statistics which you can moniter here: https://minehut.com/). However, your issue could also be coming from corrupted server files. In order to fix any files which may be delaying/stopping your server, go into the Danger Zone on your Minehut control panel and select Repair Files, then stop and start your server. Additionally, you want to be sure that your server is fully online before joining it, otherwise, you will be kicked.

Answering your first question: non-operators (people who don't have OP) can't use any commands from the Essentials plugin unless you give them the permission node corresponding to that command. In order to give your users /teleport and and /spawn permissions, you will need to get a permissions plugin -- I would recommend PermissionsEx. Once you have PermissionsEx successfully installed, go into your console (which may be found on the Home tab of your Minehut server control panel) and type in pex user {your username} add * (this'll give you the necessary permissions to the PermissionsEx) next, you'll want to join your server and execute the following commands: /pex group default add essentials.spawn and /pex group default add essentials.tp -- if you want to add more permission nodes, execute "/pex group default add " followed by the node of your choice, a full list of which may be found here: http://wiki.mc-ess.net/doc/permissions In regards to your second question: you're going to want to move into the world which you have dedicated to creative and execute: /mvm set mode creative and /mvm set mode survival in your world dedicated to survival.

Howdy there! In order to actually be able to get into creative, make sure that you have the Essentials plugin installed and that you're an operator on your server. As for forced creative mode, make sure that you set your Force Gamemode option in the Server Properties to "Creative" and that you save it. Afterwards, you might want to restart your server several times by stopping and starting it. You might want to restart your server several times, or even let it go into hibernation and then waking it back up. Occasionally, plugins won’t actually install after one restart, which is fairly annoying and confusing. If this doesn’t work then I recommend that you reinstall WorldGuard and try again.

Yes. You should do it every time you stop your server. Occasionally, your server will autosave before you stop it but that isn’t guaranteed. If you want to ensure that all of your hard work is safe ALWAYS save before stopping.
