Teleporting to friends

Hi! I was hoping someone could help me out with this. When I have friends in the server and they die, they get sent back to a spawn point. It's a pain in the butt trying to get back to them and when I try to type in the teleport command I keep getting the message "Player already in server" and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. If someone could help me out that would be great. Thank you!!

for instance, say i had 2 friends with me and i wanted lucas t come to me and my new as scott i would say:

/tp lucas scott

What is the command you are doing? It should just be /tp <player1> <player2> where it tps player1 to player2.
