I have half 1.17, no new caves or anything, bedrock and no deepslate, it's almost as if it only half worked. Any ideas?

1.17 doesn't have the new caves or lower y levels. That comes in part 2 of 1.17 later this year. Did you not hear about that? But deepslate should be a thing in this update.

Boy I'm really glad to go hear more versions will be added, when I was creating my server I was disapointed to see only 1.16 was supported this is what I was thinking: "ARE YOU KIDDING ME THEY CAN'T EVEN SUPPORT 1.17 ATLEAST?" I thought that we'd only have access to the latest version forever I was choicing whether or not to use minehut instead of aternos but in the end before the 1.17 was added I decided Minehut because aternos doesn't support 60% of the plugins they put out.. They only can handle 3 players without really bad lag (no joke) and atleast Minehut runs on 10 people so well for free! (I thought why you weren't supporting under 1.16 was that you didn't want a bunch of old combat servers lol)

You need to set the server type to spigot. Paper doesn't have 1.17 yet.

Make sure your server is set to 1.17 and you are traveling to new chunks. Also make sure you restarted the server after updating to 1.17.

Yes. Just set the server to spigot 1.17, click update, and restart the server. Nothing will reset when updating versions. But note that once you update, you won't be able to downgrade back without using a backup.

I updated to 1.17 just now but the server won't start

when i did it in the website when i clicked start, it would go offline again after a few seconds when starting up

when i did it in the minehut server lobby, it would just bring me back to the lobby

i did install a backup before restarting but when i tried recovering, nothing changed

更新到1.17之後伺服器跑新圖會很卡，有時候回朔很嚴重，有時候會被踢到大廳，有甚麼解決方法嗎，伺服器內的所有人都會遇到相同狀況

For all those wondering about Paper, I would suggest you join the discord to get dev progress. If you're too lazy to, they only released an experimental build 2 days ago so I would give them some time.

If it is going from starting to offline, check the server logs for any errors to see what is causing it. If you don't understand what they mean, you can make your own forums post about it in the Help Category and someone will help you with it there.

卡在新地图是什么意思？当它踢你时，服务器是否也会崩溃，或者只是踢你。如果服务器确实崩溃了，请尝试检查服务器日志以查看可能导致崩溃的原因。如果您需要更多帮助，您应该在论坛的帮助类别中发布自己的帖子，那里会有人帮助您。此外，所有这些都是用谷歌翻译翻译的，如有任何错误，请见谅。

It won't let you change the server but you did change it to 1.17? What do you mean? Once you do change it to spigot 1.17, make sure to click update and restart the server for it to take into effect.

Like I said to the person you replied too, 1.17 doesn't have the new caves or lower y levels. They split the update into 2 parts and that will come in part 2 later this year.

For some reason when i did that and when i logged onto my server it said it was 1.17 and when i took a item from 1.17 it just became stone and the world generation is still 1.16 so is the items. please help find out why
