server won't reset or update after i changed the settings

hi, uhm. I tried to make a server yesterday and i wanted to put it in creative in the settings and i did save that new setting. Since that didnt work i thought it was maybe cause i wasnt an op on the server so i tried to do that with the server comman on the site with both:"/op (username)" and "op (username) several times and both didnt work. ive also tried to restart and reset the server several times, but nothing works and nothing changes.... please help

Did you try to op yourself through the server console? If not that might be why.

Here is how to OP yourself:

1) Press "ACTIVATE" on the server

2) Press "EDIT SERVER" or "CONTINUE" to go to your main server editor

3) Scroll down a little bit until you see the box named "Server Command"

4) Click on the text-area of that box and enter the following:

op [username]

where you change [username] for your in-game name.

5) Wait a few seconds, and if you are already on the server you should see that you are opped. If not, you should join the server and should be an operator now.

Could you try it again while you are on the server and the server is online?

Also, are you sure you are typing that in the console WITHOUT including a "/" at the beginning?

i also tried to make one where you could see me join the server but apparantly it only recorder the minehut screen

For this example, you don't seem to be online on the server. Try again with you being on the server, and let me know if you receive any messages in-game after you run that command.

i see, i tried making a new video while i was in the server. the first video is of me joining, the second video is after me joining the server, but it keeps saying the server is empty even tho while writing this im still in that server

I could be wrong but I think the gamemode setting only applies to the default world (the world that is set on the Level Name setting) If that is the case, you can also try enabling force gamemode. If nothing wants to work, you can also use plugins to alter the gamemode players get when joining. For this you could use Multiverse, WorldGuard, or make a simple script for Skript

i have this problem where i change something in the settings, then reset the server and it doesn't listen to me and goes to the default settings
