Help a newbie making his kid+friends happy!

eight

Question

Hi all,

Well... As topic says, I'm a newbie at this. My 6yo kid and his friends are playing on their server. Well... So are their dads from time to time.

We're def. not hardcore, just creative mod having fun building all kinda things.

BUT - is it possible to do "a mix" between creative and survival. Meaning; we want the creative part to be able to craft what ever we want, the easy way - and the survival to get the pvp part in there.

The kids(read: dads) want to build their castles and be able to go to war and kill eachother.

Is this possible???

Hope some of you guys can help. Ty 🙂

Hi,

Unfortunately, there isn't an easy way to achieve both at the same time. Instead, you could just change their gamemodes from creative to survival whenever they wanted to pvp and vice versa for when they want to build/get items.

The command to change gamemodes is '/gamemode creative' and '/gamemode survival'. To set another users gamemode you can use the commands '/gamemode creative (username)' and '/gamemode survival (username)', replacing '(username)' with the Minecraft name of the player you want to change. To access these commands, the user executing them needs to have operator permissions, you can learn how to set that up here (super easy).

Here you can either give yourself operator permission or the children permission (so they can change between gamemodes themselves- although I would understand if you didn't). Keep in mind operator permissions give users access to other commands such as /kill, /tp, /ban, /kick, /give, etc.
