Player Data Transfer

So I run an SMP and one of my players recently lost their account and had to create another one. I'm wondering if there's a way (through player files or otherwise) to take the data from the original account and put it under the new name- also does anyone know how to navigate the PlayerData folder?

You could just go into the player datafolder. Find the person's old data folder, and then copy the contents. Then create a new folder named "<uuid>.dat". You can find the player's old username's and new username's uuid on this site. Then copy the contents from the older data folder to the new one. Not sure if it will work tho. Also the contents of the .dat files are weird symbol link things too.
