Can someone explain how to put mods on my server like I am five years old please

I have been trying to put mods on my minehut server for so long and no matter how much I research it I can not seem to figure out how to do it. I starting to think Minehut just doesn't allow mods but that would be really disappointing considering none of the plugins work anymore.

 How do I add mods to my server? Installing mods is a similar process as installing plugins with an extra step:

1. Login and activate the server you wish to add mods to
2. Change the server's type to Fabric or SpongeForge
3. Go to the File Manager tab, there should now be a new mods folder that was automatically made after changing the server type
4. Click the upload icon and upload your mod.
5. Restart your server

Note: Fabric and Forge mods are not cross-compatible, they will not work if the server type does not match the mod type
