update server to newest version without it changing the world?

can someone help evertime i try to update my server version to 1.20.2 or 1.20.4 it sends me to a completely different world. My server is on a superflat world with a bunch of builds but its still on 1.17.1 and I want to update the version. It keeps sending me to a completely new default world with nothing on it.

That's odd. It shouldn't be doing that.

When you switch to 1.20.4, try searching your Home Directory in the file manager to see if your original world is located anywhere as a file.

I also recommend downloading your superflat world, changing the version, and then uploading your superflat world to your newly updated server and deleting any other world it may have generated.

You can import worlds using the Multiverse plugin.
