Hoppers are breaking.

In the process of making a farming server, I noticed that hoppers started breaking when items went in to them. After looking into it further and doing testing, I found that the hoppers break only when they are able to transfer an item into another container. Please help!

Make sure your plugins aren't doing it, Vanilla minecraft does not break hoppers when it transfers items.
