If it is truly 8 hours, then honestly I don't think most people should be complaining about it (extra emphasis on most, because in certain cases, I can understand- maybe you have people playing from different time zones, or maybe it's part of your job, etc). But imo, 8 hours is pretty fair. 8 hours is a lot, that's 1/3 of your entire day. The average person has either work, or more likely- school, or something else that takes up a big chunk of their day. For most people, after they come out of school or work, or whatever, they won't even be able to get through the 8 hours entirely.
Not trying to be the kind of person who just supports organizations or whatever instantly without questioning it, but I think 8 hours is fair and realistic to most parties involved (it it works properly and there's no bugs(?) and is being applied fairly to each time zone (it would be absurd to have the same time zone restrictions apply to every time zone/area bc some areas would end up only having playable hours be during night) or whatever). Like someone else said, better 8 hours, than none at all (with that being said, I don't think this should be used as an excuse to lower it from 8 hours, it wouldn't be fair if they lowered it to any less than 8, and I also don't think it would be fair if free users were given more than 12 hours, max daily). I know you could argue that they have many other options for making revenue, but I honestly don't think many people will even buy this new feature if it is genuinely 8 hours (much less those other features).
I agree with everything you said, and @DuckyProgrammer said some stuff about revenue too, which I also agree with.
I disagreed with how, well for many people, they're on fall break. They decided to release the update on Monday, the beginning of the weekdays. What a great way to start 2 days into fall break...
(Not my experience, post is what I would portray someone with a free server as)

almost everyone here replies to 1-2 year old posts with things not related to the topic at all.
like whenever someone makes a post about help with a plugin or help with a skript, it'll reply with like "Yes, scripts are very fun to make. I suggest you go to (website) because I, for one, learned great knowledge with this website and I, for one, recommend it."

1. Don't put your entire post in a code box lmao
2. If it's not saving, even when you do /save or /save-all, it means something is causing your server to rollback. It could be a plugin, or your server's age is old.
3. Contact minehut support at https://minehut.com/support/form if the problem persists.

they lost money because of bad updates, in which they try to "fix" it with somehow worse updates
the last good update was the unleashed update
the 2x cooldown i was pretty mad at, but not too bad, i still had a rank after all.
they also muted me for voicing my opinion about the rank their reason was "Encouraging Bad Behavior" bro mh is goofy
i did a rant a little while back for being banned for 2 months and 3 weeks
when i exposed them, they hid my posts.
so i kept making more and more and evidently i had exposed them so much they unbanned me
they limited the ads so people would buy a better rank

Please post this in the help category next time, and what skript addon are you trying to get. You mightve downloaded an obsolete version. You can alternatively download it to your computer and import it using the file manager.
dashboard>your server>file manager>plugin>import button>select file>wait for file to load in>/reload or restart server (restart is recommended)>enjoy

Why hasn't minehut added a renewable timer yet, like you have to watch 2 videos and solve 5 captchas, or pay 250 credits for 3 hours
Also if you guys are having whitelisted SMPS for you and your friends n stuff, why don't you just use a separate server. Everyone goes to minehut and then wonders why they're collapsing so hard
