Why can the console not find my username?

Hi,

I’m trying to make a server and give myself op. The only problem is that when I go onto the console it says player does not exist even though I do exist and I spelt my name right also just o say I’m on bedrock so that might change something

you must type a . infront of your username, example is that my bedrock is croppedferret21 but i would tyoe .croppedferret21 so that it recognises the account as bedrock
