Failed to verify name!

hey i was wondering why my bedrock friends can join my server, eveytime one of my friends ATTEMPT to join they are instantly prompted with the "Failed to verify name!" text. java players can join just fine but bedrock players cant. I really need help on why my friends cant join.

Im thinkin that the server is having problems right now where bedrock players cant connect. probably because of the "*" in the name.
