I'm so confused

On the minehut main server I forgot to do /ad <name> <description> and instead I just said /join ***** it is fun! 

then I got muted for 3 hours......why? either I am advertising or I am advertising. what is the difference?

Not using /ad for server advertisements is against the platform specific rules.
