Piston duping

So me and my friend were trying to make a rail duper on our server. However, when we built the duper and tried to activate it, the rails weren't duping. Instead, they just fell off the duper. We tried three different designs but none of them worked. When I tested them on my single player world, it was suddenly working. Is there any way I can enable piston dupers on my server?

i think its something with paper

Go into paper.yml and try find something called piston-duplication and replace false with true
