Uploading Custom Map Images?

Hi, I was wondering if it was possible to upload custom maps, and i dont mean like worlds, I mean custom images over map items
I recently figured out how to do this on my own world and tried it out using the minehut file manager and it didnt seem to work

I was actually wondering how to do something like this, as how do you upload images in something like a painting format like you might see on servers? I need it for something so a response as quick as possible would be great.
