How to use functions?

Hi! I've uploaded a map to my server a while ago, but I can't get it to work because it's based on functions. Whenever I try to execute them, the server can't even find them.

My question is, how do I fix this, or, how do I enable functions?

I believe that functions are included with a datapack, or a .mcfunction file, if I'm correct. You might be able to upload these, but if you are asking where it's in the datapacks folder, if you can't find that I recommend going to this. You must have minimal logic of code in the language JSON.

Well, the world I've uploaded is just a copy of a local world, with fully functioning functions. I know how to create and write them!

My problem is that the server or world can't find them, so my problem is not solved yet. If someone with knowlegde of how these servers work could help me, that would be great!
