Selectors not working

So I am trying to make a City rpg with economy and stuff (doesnt really matter). 

And I am trying to make it so when you press a button a command block goes off with "lp user @p parent add cafe"

The command is working perfectly whenever i put my name, but whenever the @p/selector is there it doesnt work.

Also I haven't played minecraft in like 2 years and I used to be very good with command blocks, did something change with them or is this just a minehut thing?

ok nvm lucky perms doesnt allow selectors in command blocks
