Can't join my own server

When I enter the command /join servername, It starts up my server and on the dashboard it says it is online, however, in game I am met with the message "Unable to connect you to servername. Please try again later." And so I am just left in the main lobby. It was working fine earlier, but I did change some files in the file manager so that may be the issue.

check your server logs
