Thank you for this reply. The server is brand new; I just spun it up today, a few hours ago. No plugins, nothing fancy. Myself and a friend, on separate networks, both experienced the lag spikes simultaneously, meaning it is not likely client side.
I will try the timings command and report back any findings.

Hello.
I am new to all of this, and wanted to evaluate Minehut to see if it would be the best fit for me to host a casual MP minecraft server for my friends. I'm fond of the easy interface and setup, but I'm experiencing frequent lag spikes while playing.
Admittedly, I'm playing on a Free server (to try it out) so I wanted to ask: are these lag spikes typical of free servers, or do other servers experience them as well?

I wouldn't even know how to change the tick speed.
The data you are seeing is me mining a square of blocks in a 20x20 area for about 3-5 minutes. I was alone on the server.
