I added a resource pack to dropbox and gave the link with the dl=1 but when i try to join it kicks me out saying that it needs a custom resource pack

The title. I tried installing the resource pack manually but that doesn't work either. Also if anyone can, please tell me how to add multiple resource packs, cause the resource pack i'm trying to install has 4 packs in one pack(or 4 parts).
