Dupe Server Combat Fix?

This is a problem on almost every dupe server:

End game players are unkillable (assuming they aren't trash or have the reaction time of a sloth and that the fight is on flat ground)

The fight will usually go on until one of them gets low or has their armor break, at which point they'll just elytra away before you can kill them, resulting in a waste of time.

Is there a way to fix this without fundamentally ruining pvp?

Disabling elytra in combat won't do, since the elytra is often useful for chasing, especially on servers which allow hacking.

Adding a /duel command that teleports players into an inescapable arena could work, but that's too far from a normal survival experience, and it would not work when one player is being ambushed, this is even more problematic on lifesteal servers, where players could easily have 100 HP or higher instead of 20 HP and that point, they could withstand multiple point-blank crystals even without max gear.

The goals:

-Create a system that tries to automatically determine who is 'winning' a pvp fight.

-Allow the winner of the fight to leave (such as to go help someone else) but not the loser.

-Have a 'leniancy' setting, which allows the loser to still escape as long as they are not losing by too much (how much is too much would be configurable)

Example:

-Player A ambushes Player B and deals 10 damage, Player A is now considered as being in a winning position, and is thus allowed to run away, but Player B isn't.

-Player B then gaps, pots and gets their act together, reversing the situation and getting Player A down low, which healing back up to full, now Player A can't escape but Player B can.

How would this system work? I'd like to see this tested on an actual server to see if it works or not, having pvped on many dupe servers, this is a recurring problem on pretty much every single one.
