Can't join friend server

I am trying to join my friend's server but I can't join. I see that the server is online on the server list but when I try to join it sends me in a minehut lobby server. I tried to use /join but It doesn't work. He created another server but I still can't join it. This problem occurs only with my friend. Can someone help please?

Few things to check

Have you checked whether or not the server is whitelisted?

Here are a few whitelist commands you can use

Turn off whitelist:

• /whitelist off 

Turn on whitelist:

• /whitelist on

Add user to whitelist:

• /whitelist add {name}

Next is a simple one, just make sure the server name is spelt correctly.

Though it's simple, it catches me out a few times.
