random people keep joining my server and i wanna play in privet with my friends please help im new to minecraft

guys im new to minecraft i need help in making my server privet and how to kick players i tried to type a command somethin but its not working should i type any thing before it or what ?? please help me

Hi there! Welcome to Minecraft! Please go to your dashboard, and in the settings panel you should see a box that says Server Command.

 

1. Type /op <username> to allow you to do commands on the server.

2. Do the command /whitelist on 

3. Then do the command /whitelist add <username> to add all the users you want on!

Then you can do the command /ban <username> to ban usernames from your server and then do the command /pardon <username> to remove the ban.
