How do I make TNT duping WITHOUT resetting my server to scratch?

One time I wanted to edit the settings of my server, and it completely reset itself to a new seed. I am terrified of this happening again, partially because I also can't seem to figure out how to back up my world. If someone could explain how to allow TNT duping and would be sure this would not delete my world somehow, that would be stupendous.

If your server is paper, you can allow tnt duping by changing an option called like piston-duplication in the server's paper.yml, click save, then restart the server. But if its on spigot, I don't think spigot patches that so it should work there.

Now, important part: will clicking "restart the server" delete my world? and start it from scratch? cause that happened to me once before.

To Restart just closes the server and brings it back up. Reset however is the one that resets everything including the world. Just press restart.
