1.17 part 1 bug

When I equip the new items from the 1.17 update part 1 all of the new items turn into stone. After I try to place it down it will automatically turn into stone. If it is a glitch or a intentional feature please let me know how to fix it I really want to try the new items

Minehut servers are still on 1.16.5 until spigot releases for 1.17 then they will update all servers to 1.17. They just allow 1.17 clients to connect to the servers even tho the servers are still on 1.16.5.
