Why am I still in survival mode? (I'm new to this site!)

I set creative as the default game mode, but every time I login to the server I'm in survival.

Also, I tried to upload a world to the server, but then I keep spawning a random new world.

(Plus how do I become admin on my server?)

Howdy there!

In order to actually be able to get into creative, make sure that you have the Essentials plugin installed and that you're an operator on your server. As for forced creative mode, make sure that you set your Force Gamemode option in the Server Properties to "Creative" and that you save it. Afterwards, you might want to restart your server several times by stopping and starting it.
