Can i put a /ban @p command into a command block?

Working on a project and this is a big part of it. But for some reason it doesnt do anything when i power it. Is this not possible?

I do not believe that ban can be run from a command block as it does not actually run the command via chat.

None of these commands work through command blocks:

ban, ban-ip, deop, kick, op, pardon, pardon-ip, save-all, save-off, save-on, stop, whitelist add/remove/on/off/reload, debug, publish, kill. help, seed, list, scoreboard objectives/players/teams, list, banlist, whitelist list

Do you have EssentialsX? Because that plugin makes command block selectors work differently. You need to do commands like /minecraft:tp @p but instead of minecraft, the name of the plugin you are using the command from.
