io.netty + banning/whitelist issues

madbie_

Question

Hi, I'm an op on a server I've been on for a few months now, and the server has never really had any issues until a couple days ago. Every couple hours the server would crash and everyone would get an io.netty.channel.abstractchannel$annotatedconnectexception message whenever they tried to join. The first couple times the server owner was able to reset it and fix the issue, but it always crashed after a few hours. Then, yesterday (2/3/21), the server crashed again but this time we weren't able to reset it. Two people were able to join after typing in the /join command, but it took them to a completely different world and both got immediately banned by two other people. Then this morning, after the maintenance was finished, one of my friends tried to log on but got a "you are not whitelisted on this server" message. They've been on the server for a few months now too and it's not a private, whitelist-based server. It's a big server, with lots of people on it and we've all made really close friends and have spent lots of time on the world, we'd be really sad to have to scrap it and start again, so is there anything that can be done to help?

You will have to talk to the owner of the server, there is nothing we can do about this.

If I at all helped, please react to my post with a ❤
