How do I use a lodestone in my survival world?

When ever I try to right click my lodestone with a compass it teleports me somewhere nearby. I do not have any plugins so is it just a thing that happens with every server?

I've never tried lodestone before, but maybe consider restarting server. If that doesnt work, you will have to abandon the idea of lodestone.

 

EDIT: Have tried lodestone, not on a server though.

I'm 99% sure this is caused by WorldEdit. You say you don't have any plugins installed, but just to be sure, type /pl in your server, and send me the plugins it shows.
