Friend can't join minecraft server

I hosted a minecraft server via minehut, but my friend can't join the server. I can join it without any issues. We both have a legal version of Java, so that can't be the problem. When he tries to join he gets an error: The authentication servers are down. Please help.

I had this too. When you join minehut for the first time, you have to authenticate yourself to prove your not a bot, this is a authentication server ( I think  ) and there down for maintenance.  Even though  had joined before, I had this. To fix, rejoin the server. If not, restart mc ( user joining ) . If not restart PC/Mac.

I was involved in one of the times Minehut was hacked. I just got my appeal accepted, so I will be back in 6 months.
