My server has been griefed.

So my friends server was griefed. He wasn't thinking straight when he got on the server and then got off. We just got back on today and I tried helping him get a restore on it but it only restored to the last date which was still griefed. And no, he never saved it once either. So is there no way we can get it back. This server meant a lot to me but I guess if theres nothing I can do theres nothing I can do.

There isn't much you can do. The only way to restore the server if you load a previous backup (looks like you already tried that) or they downloaded the world before the server got griefed. 

I would recommend turning on whitelist so only wanted people can join /whitelist on   |   /whitelist add userNameHere
