Uploading backup while saving inventories?

(Sorry I accidentally posted this on the Servers forum earlier)

I back up the multiplayer server I play on frequently, but I was trying to test how uploading said backups would work. I managed to upload one of the world backups to a different server, but while the map looks the same, it doesn't preserve anyone's inventory or experience level. I thought that downloading worlds would automatically save the players' inventories. Is there a way to keep them?

Never mind I figured it out, I had to go into server properties and edit the level name.
