Everything's gone?!?!

I join my SMP server today to find that I spawn in a completely new world, with nothing in my inventory. I restored a backup of my server from earlier today, but when I joined my server again, it was another completely new world. I restore the same backup again, but another brand new world loads in. What can I do? I don't want to lose all my progress.

Try doing /worlds (needs op - how to get op) and check that you haven't been teleported to the wrong world (click the names of the world to teleport to them).

Thanks for the help, but it says "That world does not exist!" for every world I click except for one world, which isn't the one I am looking for.

That's quite strange, try using the command '/world (world name)' to teleport to the world instead.
