How to know seed

when i am on my minecraft world i have no way to tell what the seed is and i cannot use any comands as it tells me to contact adminatrators

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe "/seed" is a command that can be executed on servers as it can be on single player worlds. Your telling me that it does not work. If that's the case you could try simply restarting your server if you have not already tried that. If it persists to do the same thing, you can always try running the command in console, then checking the logs as it may respond with it that way, I'm not for sure though.
