The current state of Minehut

Hello, it's been nearly 2 years since I've last made any forums post regarding the state Minehut. I've made a lot of statements back then that are still relevant now, except some of them are now on a bigger scale.

I understand that SLG has been trying their best to maintain Minehut and also help grow it but I'm also not satisfied with what we've been receiving as a community.

Minehut has a lot of issues currently, and its current state is horrible. There's constant conflict over bugs and issues, issues with the community and staff team in general.

 

1. SLG and it's white knights

Ever since their acquisition of Minehut, there's a general consensus with the older members of the community that SLG has impacted Minehut in a negative way. I understand SLG has brought much growth to Minehut, but Minehut does not feel much different compared to its 2018 version, it just feels more of a downgrade. I'm sure SLG is aware of the many issues with Minehut and has been trying to be transparent as possible but the main issue really stems from the White Knights.

Any opinion, issues or complaints with SLG and Minehut is always bound to end in failure. Why? It's simply not because of SLG themselves, as a matter of fact I'm sure they're really trying their best to keep up with the community. It falls to us as a community to make sure SLG is aware of issues, to make sure they can give us what the community wants. There's people in the community who keep criticism and opinions away from SLG and the Staff team is not helping at all. They act as if they're an endangered species, grouping together to form a strong group and fight back any opposition, they're literally the twitter version of Minehut; toxic, refusing any sort of wrong, fighting in the masses and can't handle criticism. God bless those who dare to oppose them, before they are shredded with "Then just leave", "If you don't like it, don't use it", "It's Minehut, what do you expect" and their god tier topic switching tactics that they've mastered from their hundreds of battles with critics.

 

2. The community

Honestly, I really don't have an issue with the community until it really starting growing exponentially. While it's great originally, it ended up growing to a resentful community that is split between those who "accept Minehut is trash" and those who are new and complain about the many issues of Minehut (Most of which get swept under the rug by other members of the community, not even SLG)

(skip over the highlighted bit) Why are most people in the community not helpful at all when they are there to answer a question, it's as if #skript has started to influence the community and turned it into a resentful group that hates new people and views themselves as superior, and when people do try to help, it's either copy and paste from someone else's answer or just give them something random and pretend that you solved it or just go "It'S MineHUT, WhaT dID YOu ExpEct??!!?!?!?!?"

 

3. Minehut itself

This is something I'd blame on SLG, Minehut has not at all changed since 2018 other than a few "nifty" features and navigation to shop became easier. The panel is practically the same since Luuke left it just with different navigation, server icons and advertisement. It'd be REALLY NEAT if SLG could remake it from the bottom up and solve problems from there instead of using old code that probably barely works and has major issues that always seems to pop up.

 

tdlr: Minehut has not changed for the past couple years and that's most likely why we are having MANY issues today and the community is not helping at all by white knighting and being unhelpful to everybody

While I do partially agree with this, a lot of people don't provide enough info.just are dumb. For example, skript say "player is not a valid argument, use vitem instead" and there in the skript channel asking it, like why. Other people won't share their code or ask a question with no context and won't show us what they've already done. #skript is good if you send a skript with all code, the error, and what you have done so far. 

I do realize that it was the highlighted section but just want to point that out. Otherwise, great article 100%.

Now I have to find every single pain point of the panel (all of them) to get them off there asses to do something about it.
