Ghast not going through nether portal. (1.16.3 Vanilla Multiplayer Survival Server)

I have a private multiplayer survival server with one other person. We have been trying to transport a ghast from the nether to the overworld through a nether portal. We have a ghast trapped inside of a box with a large portal inside. The portal has a dimesion of 10x10 blocks. The corresponding overworld portal is the same size. We have tried everything to get the ghast through, but nothing seems to work. We have pulled the ghast through with fishing rods, pushed it, and even attempted to let it go through on its own. We have also tried having one person standing in the overworld and one person standing in the nether. Each time, it flies completely through it like nothing is there. The ghast is named. There are no plugins or datapacks active. 1.16.3 vanilla. 

I would include an attachment, but I'm afraid the ghast will shoot a fire charge and kill itself.

In addition, I was not able to replicate the issue in another survival world under the same conditions. The ghasts went through the portal just fine when I tried it elsewhere. I have not tried this on another Minehut multiplayer server, however, I would assume this has something to do with the world being tied to a server.

I would appreciate if someone knew how to fix my issue. If someone is able to replicate this issue, let me know! Thx

This is likely a paper bug. Paper is what minehut uses for alot of stuff and it is probably why.
