Tried to read NBT tag that was too big error.

Juntso

Question

Hi so on a friends server, I was being dumb and continually ctrl+midclick some chests that had other chests in them. because i thought that it would be funny. but now its sending me a clientside error that the nbt tag is too big and as such, i can no longer join the server. other people can join and are sometimes kicked too but its ok for them for the most part. I think the problem is the chest with the insanely high nbt data is in my inventory and as such i cant join. any assistance would be appreciated

Hey,

I'd suggest you try restarting your server to fix this issue. If this doesn't work, you could try removing this (see image) including the ',' from the 'usercashe.json' file in the File Manager tag but instead of the part that says 'Migins', remove the part that says your username. This will delete all your player data (inventory) so I would understand if you would like to wait to find other alternatives.

Hello I just discovered a way to fix this on servers. Since it gives you a few seconds before it kicks you, you can teleport away from the area with a copied command saved onto the clipboard. You will not be kicked once you are teleported. Then to remove the area where the bug is change your render distance to the lowest possible and enter the area where the bug is once there slowly increase it one distance at a time and the area should be fixed.
