Minecraft Enchantments beyond Max doesnt apply

SO Essentials lets me enchant items because i set unsafe-enchantments to false. Although it does say its enchantment its just the same as any max enchantment. For example, It sais my sword is sharp 10 but its the same as a Sharp 5. I need help please
