Does Shopkeepers Support Custom Items as Currency?

I'm setting up a server with my friends, and we decided to make a server economy with the Shopkeepers plugin. I know Shopkeepers supports changing the currency item to any item, but I'm using renamed gold nuggets/ingots enchanted with mending as currency. Does shopkeepers support using items like this as currency, and if yes how do I change the config?

I think if you just put in the items for what you want them to take like you would with normal, it should still work, If it doesnt work, just reply to this message!

Buying-shops and selling-shops automatically add an item based on what the currency item in the config is. By default the config says 

Quote

currency-item: EMERALD 

and 

Quote

high-currency-item: EMERALD_BLOCK

so I'm not sure how I would set it to be a custom item.
