Can you update your current 1.15 world into 1.16 without losing progress?

Yes, so what will happen is every unloaded chunk in your current world will be rendered into a 1.16 chunk once you load it in after the update.

But that will only have effect on the nether right? Or are there also new features in the overworld?

Yeah that should only effect the nether. From what I'm aware there isn't anything new biomes-wise in being implemented to the over world.

You can delete the nether world and then re enter a portal and it should reset the nether and load in every chunk to 1.16

How do i delete the nether world?

Deleting the Nether folder at the file manager, on your dashboard. There should be a "worl_nether" folder in there, you just have to delete the "DIM-1" and restart your server. Be sure no player is inside the Nether while doing it or it may cause death/item loss.

Go into you're console > file manager > nether_world > delete that file > go into game once 1.16 releases and enter the nether.

It should be available on Minehut in around 1-3 weeks they just need to update plugins etc.

In the over world you have chances to find ruined nether portals in unloaded chunks, as for the update i wouldnt say its weeks, maybe within the week, the nether update is a pretty big deal and im sure everyone is getting their plugins up to date, minehut updated to 1.15 only 3 days after its release so i would imagine it wouldnt take long.

so im in 1.16 and i deleted world_nether and i wnet to the nether but it doesnt look like it changed

You have to restart the server right after deleting the folder, before entering the Nether again.
