Weird Coal based structures appearing

So me and my friends have been playing minehut for a moderate amount of time, and recently, these weird structures appeared around our castle we built, no one in the server has silk touch, and no one is named DK, and we only have the link given out to our close friends as its not a public server. We have no idea what this could be, is this a odd occurrence that happens every so often? The screenshot that showcases the sign with a smiling face, happened to me when I went AFK, I returned with the sign there, and coal surrounding me, later a friend told me they put that sign there because they had to go, but the coal wasnt there.

Although you only gave the IP to your friends so they can play, anyone can join the server if they know what your server name is. They could also just click "Join a random server" and randomly join yours. What I recommend is whitelisting your server, if you don't already know how to do that I'll link a youtube tutorial below. From my knowledge this is not a naturally generated structure, however I could be wrong. doubtful though
