    My Story

Wdym "all the fun servers" nothing is more fun than going on random servers and raiding them, usually I don't even type in chat, I just ruin the server completely. Also some server owners don't ip ban so it's super easy to just get right back on
  2. 10, bc it's just a fun abusable pvp server (IP Banned on it tho, false banned on 1 account for "killaura" for spam clicking ppl from spawn protection, then they ip banned me when I evaded this ban on alts) 600SB, bc I love watching ppl rage at my lag machines (3 Accounts Banned)
  3. The original /gamerule randomtickspeed 100000000 overloaded and crashed your server (minehut servers are very weak and easily laggable), next time set it to like 10, 100 or 1000, don't go higher than 1000 or it might crash you. That's why nothing happened when you tried to set it back to 3, it didn't respond bc it was crashed, hence why you got timed out, the server couldn't respond. You couldn't rejoin bc it was down. I honestly dont know how this could be fixed since I haven't actually made a minehut server and worked on it, I think on other hosts you can access the server properties and set gamerules but idk about minehut
  4. How do you search up servers? Or do you mean just looking through the list tryna find it
  5. This is the classic "(Insert relative here) works at microsoft/mojang and he will delete your account if you don't do (Insert action here)" rebranded
  6. Takes more than you think it does, what most server owners do is they just select spawn and set build to deny. In fact, the worldguard minehut tutorials on yt say that you are ungriefable with build set to deny, in their video they expanded the region vertically, which I've also seen some server owners do, regardless, the build flag alone cannot protect spawn from the wrath of a lava cast or tnt cannon, there's also owners that forget to expand the region after they've added more stuff to their server, meaning you can grief parts of it by hand. Turning off lava flow and tnt usually does the job, though the lava can still surround the spawn and prevent ppl from leaving, so a buffer zone of 1-4 chunks is required, you have to set around 3-5 different flags if you want to fully protect from griefs, I might make a test server so I can see which flags don't block griefs completely and simply make it harder to grief
  7. It's about the fact that there's a lot of threads asking for a way to keep servers open while no1 is on, when if that was the case the servers would just get griefed fast, I will make one later on which antigrief is best
  8. If there was a way to keep servers open while no1 is online, they would get griefed in like a day or two, especially on survival servers or servers with bad/no antigrief. The owner wouldn't be able to stop the grief and they wouldn't even know who did it (there are still a ton of survival servers without coreprotect)
  9. Lemme get this straight: You gave someone every permission on your server with no protection and then logged out for the night? Leaving an unprotected server behind with ANYONE is risky, even if they're in survival and have no perms, they can still grief you in less than 30 minutes. If you give them creative/op and logout, there's a chance of your server being completely griefed and crashed. It's your fault for opping them
  10. Why is this about the house of commons and not about griefing? Griefing without op should not be bannable, just get good plugins and it won't happen to you, if you put flint and steel, and/or lava and/or tnt in a chest 20 blocks away from spawn, outside of the spawn protection, and your server is public, what do you think will happen? Don't be surprised if you see your house burned down or blown up. Btw, someone said they were going to report me for griefing a tiny cobblestone build with no doors, no windows, only around 30 blocks of cobblestone, if I actually get banned for that im done (no server rules that said no griefing on their server either), I also found this video on yt:
  11. In part 1 of "a griefer's guide to protecting your server", I explained the various different types of griefs and how to protect against each grief, in part 2, I will explain how to make a grief proof server overall. I will be touching on: -Plugins -Advice/Griefs -Preventing vs Fixing First, let's rate common anti-grief plugins out of 10: -World guard - 5/10 - Doesn't stop fire, lava, water, lava casts, cobble monsters, tnt cannons, creepers, it's overall very hard to stop all griefs using this plugin. If you add on top that, the fact that sometimes the region isn't fully world guarded, aka sometimes the floor and the ceiling can be griefed, I can't rank it higher than 5/10, unless you have a massive buffer zone, but that's not really viable on survival servers, since the players need wood and won't run for hundreds of blocks if they can just move on to a different server. You need a buffer zone of 150 blocks to be cobble monster proof, and in theory, cobble monsters can grow up to 370 blocks to the sides, altho this is not yet confirmed, 150 blocks stops cobble monsters for now, unless a setup that allows lava to flow for 2 blocks before going down 1 block is discovered/popularized -Land claims - 7/10 - Stops most common griefs, the only griefs that MIGHT bypass it are nether portal griefs and mob griefs, but that's not it's main weakness/drawback, the main problem with this plugin is the fact that players will usually start with only 100 claim blocks, and even if they have more, they won't make much of a buffer zone, so their builds can still be lava casted and encased in cobblestone, it's still better than world guard since while cobblemonsters can grow into worldguarded regions, they can't grow into land claims. -Core Protect - 6/10 - While it's excellent for catching the griefer and for fixing the grief, it doesn't stop the grief itself, so if there's no staff on, the griefer will be able to destroy the builds/server for a while All plugins are decent, no plugin is perfect, but now for the advice: -Use world guard for servers where the player can't get outside the world guarded region, there's no need for a buffer zone if they can't get lava and place it outside in the first place. -Use land claims for survival servers, you can use world guard for the spawn, but then you need a buffer zone or to have the spawn on a separate world. -Get Core Protect on EVERY server type. -Don't give ANYONE creative unless you really trust them. -Don't afk on public survival servers, you're gonna get killed and your house will be burned down. -Public creative servers NEED lava disabled, even if you've got land claims, world guard and core protect, they will surround everything with cobblestone if you do not disable lava, plus some players won't claim their builds and they'll get griefed. -Preventing vs Fixing: It's always better to stop the grief before it happens than to have to fix it after everything is destroyed. Learn your lesson, if you get griefed, improve your grief protection, you don't want to be on the defensive, otherwise, if there's a 30 minute timespan where no staff are on, you're gonna get griefed and no one will be able to fix it. I see so many times where I grief a server by lava casting spawn, then I come back on an alt the next day, and they're still using the same plugins, they're BEGGING to get griefed again. Rollbacks are great, but they fill up memory and they require staff, it's MUCH better if you can prevent griefs than to have to fix them, when multiple builds get griefed at once, a staff member will have to fix them 1 by 1, this wouldn't ruin your server too much if you have core protect, but if you don't have core protect, there's a 50% chance that when you're done fixing a build after it was lava griefed, your spawn will have been lava casted.
  12. Op and creative aren't the only types of griefs: In less than 10-20 minutes after the first block was placed, I was eventually caught and banned, but I was able to grief every significant build on this server. I don't think griefing should be bannable on minehut, its the owner's job to prevent and fix stuff like this, if they can't do it, this will happen: (Spawn is completely covered in cobblestone, players can't even break out of that without pearls since its a no build zone), they gave everyone creative automatically, so this only took about 10-20 minutes If a professional griefer has a single bucket of lava, your server is in trouble.
  13. I forgot to add that in free roam creative servers, you can get lava/tnt griefed in seconds, get a protection plugin for those too. By the time they ban me, half their build is already blown up or on fire.
  14. 1. Survival Servers Types of griefs you'll have to watch out for: -Fire/Burn griefs -TNT/Creeper griefs -Block breaking griefs -Cobble monster griefs -Lava curtain griefs -Block spam griefs What you can do to prevent each grief: -Fire/Burn griefs - Turn fire tick off or install a land claim plugin that is simple to use for the players and also rock solid. -TNT/Creeper griefs - To protect spawn from creepers, turn mobgriefing off, it'll affect the whole server, but who wants their house blown up by a creeper? no one. If you just world guard spawn and don't protect from these types of griefs, griefers can lure creepers into your spawn and blow them up, or build tnt cannons that move the tnt into the world guarded region. Again, get a land claiming plugin, the standard one with the golden shovel is very rock solid and even stops urorthodox griefing methods like sand shooters. -Block breaking griefs - This is the simplest type of grief to protect from, just get the golden shovel land claiming plugin or redprotect and you should be fine, world guard does a good job at protecting spawn from this grief and most other griefs too, but you have to turn off more than just block breaking and building. -Cobble monster griefs - One of the most devastating types of griefs, it's quite slow, but if all you've got is a build, pvp, break world guard, your server is gonna end up looking something like this: I cannot say this enough, get the gold shovel land claiming plugin, it almost completely stops all kinds of griefs, you can use worldguard, but then you need to disable: -Building -Block breaking -Liquids (even ones that are placed outside the region and then flow in, do /server megared or /server tiniserver for examples of worldguard servers that i griefed with liquids) -Explosions (not just tnt, creepers too) -Pvp (If you want to) Even if you do all of that, you can still get griefed by sand shooters and flooding machines, which is why I think world guard doesn't really work well with survival servers, use a more rock solid plugin. Block spam griefs - Just disable block placement. Conclusion - Even if you have rock solid plugins, players could still surround the spawn area with cobblestone, if you want an absolutely full proof way to get prevent spawn griefs on survival servers, have the spawn high up, surround it with barriers, and make a buffer zone that stretches out atleast 100 blocks, and force players to do /wild to get out of this box, teleporting them 2,000 - 10,000 blocks away from spawn. Creative Servers Types of griefs you'll have to watch out for: -Egg spam -Lag machines -Snow golem spam -Minecart cannons What you can do to prevent each grief: -Egg spam - You don't really need to prevent this type of grief, since it doesn't do any permanent damage and is very easy to fix, you can just remove the chickens and warn/ban the player who built it. -Lag machines - This is the most dangerous grief for creative servers, they can shutdown your server if you don't stop them. If you want to be thorough, just disable pistons, period, if you want to still be able to use pistons, but don't want your tps in the single digits, then disable glowstone, sea lanterns and redstone lamps, lag machines that don't use any of those are much harder to make and/or aren't as effective, also get a clear lag plugin that removes all entities that aren't mobs and players, not just items. The other 2 griefs are similar to egg spam, they don't do permanent damage, so you can just warn/ban the player and then easily fix the grief. And finally, the most obvious grief that works on every server is the /op grief, just don't op random people or even give them creative if they're not supposed to have it. If your server is meant to be private, then TURN WHITELIST ON, I've seen so many servers that get griefed or raided because they don't do this, and instead just afk with all their stuff on them/in the chests, if you afk, you keep the server open for griefers and spawn killers to log in and destroy your world
