Downloading worlds has apparently been fixed. To download a world, go to file manager, select the "world" folder and download it. Do the same for world_nether and world_the_end.

    Hi,

This issue is obsolete because the way to download worlds has changed. Now you have to download world, world_nether and world_the_end in the file manager on the dashboard. But even this new way is broken and they are not fixing it anytime soon. I posted a workaround here:

    Cheers

  3. I managed to download my overworld by doing the following steps:

    • Go into the overworld folder (by default it is named "world")
    • Select every folder except "region" and download them. These folders weight only 37.1 MiB, so the download works.
    • Go into region
    • Download region files bunch by bunch. For example, I have 485 region files and I downloaded all of them in 6 times.
    • Put the downloaded region files in a folder named "region"
    • Place this folder in the world folder

It works, but it is not a satifsying solution because it is time-consuming.

I should work at Minehut support lol

  4. I have the exact same problem.

This happens because our worlds are too big. For example, in my last backup (2021-07-18), my overworld (only this dimension) is 1.25 GiB. Note that I can download the other dimensions separately (443 MiB for the Nether, and 109 MiB for the End).

I contacted Minehut support on september 21st and here are their answers:

There is a known issue that makes it difficult for larger worlds to download. What I suggest is to create a new default world by changing the Level name in Settings. This does not erase your world but changes the one that is automatically joined.

Then join the server on Minecraft to keep the server from hibernating due to inactivity. Then try to download the original world. I understand this involves a lot of extra steps, but until the issue is fixed this is an option to try.

The devs are currently investigating this issue so I do apologize.

    and on september 27th:

I'm sorry for the delay! I have heard back from our dev team and they have still not been able to fix the issue preventing large worlds from downloading. They are backlogged with some other bugs right now and unfortunately, a fix for this issue is still at least a few weeks away.

I will close your ticket as we won't have updates on this issue any time soon. We will post updates on our Discord server once it has been fixed.

We appreciate your patience while we work on making improvements.

I tried the solution described and it does not work. The same thing happens: "Bad Gateway".

In my opinion, it is a high priority issue. We need a fix ASAP. The backup feature is good but I need a local backup.

I will also send this post to Minehut support here. I suggest that everyone does the same to get things moving.

Were you using the link that it gave you when the /dl command existed? If so, those links are a one time use and don't think they work anymore after the command got removed. Does it show that error when you used the link or the download button on the file manager?

I selected the "world" folder in the file manager, then pressed the download button, which is the current official way of downloading worlds.

  6. Hello,

I cannot download my Overworld. However, I can download my Nether (445 MiB) and my End (109 MiB), so the problem seems to be the size of the Overworld. My last backup of the Overworld (2021-07-18) is 1.25 GiB, which was downloaded with the old way using the command

    /dl world world

I have provided a screenshot of the error that I obtain when trying to download the Overworld.

Here is the text version, so it could help people who search it:

  7. Hello,

When I make a backup of my server, here is what I do:

    - I download "world", "world_nether" and "world_the_end"

    - I unzip them

    - I take DIM-1 from "world_nether" and DIM1 from "world_the_end" and move them into "world"

    - I zip the folder "world" and this is my backup

This makes a playable local world with the right Nether and End dimensions and I don't notice any loss of information (inventory or region) when I join the local world.

However, I noticed that "level.dat", "level.dat_old", "session.lock" and "uid.dat" files are present at the root of the "world", "world_nether" and "world_the_end" folders.

So my question is: what data do I loose by not including these files (those at the root of "world_nether" and "world_the_end") in my backup? These 4 files are present at the root of the 3 folders, why are they included 3 times?

    Thanks for your help!

    Have a nice weekend,

    Schbourf

I wrote down /dl world, got the link, used the link and got the file, put it in the saves folder. but when i go and play minecraft the world doesent exsist. So the problem still exists.

You have to unzip the downloaded file 🙂

  9. Hello,

I wanted to update my issue regarding the recent update about saving servers and rollback issues. Rollbacks seem to be fixed. The saving process before hibernation takes about 1 hour but it's not a problem for me.

Even after the update and restarting and hibernating my server so that it uses the new compression system, I still can't download my overworld (Failed to upload file). I can download the overworld in another Minehut server, so this issue is server-related. I didn't change the whitelist of the server since last time, so feel free to join if you need to experiment. I'm available on Discord (Schbourf#3290) if you need me.

Thank you very much for your hard work, I am very happy with Minehut 😄

I can also help you but you probably trust a support member more.

Thanks for offering your help! _Tarna_ tried downloading my world without success, and will inform Minehut of the bug. Thank you _Tarna_!

There shouldn't be a limit that I know of. Someone a few days ago said they downloaded a 1.1gb world with the download command so 500mb should work. Try doing what Delta said above. If that doesn't work, I can try joining your server and try myself. Cause someone has an issue with downloading and they couldn't download it but when I join and try, it worked for me. Just reply to the post with your server name or dm or @me on the minehut discord. Tarna256#8675 is my Discord or _Tarna_ is my ign if you need to whitelist me.

Yes I tried and it didn't work. I will contact you on Discord so you can try in my world!

Hey, your main world should be called world so you should type /dl world world to download it (unless you changed the name) (you can also type /dl world to download the current world)

My world is called ul_world, because I uploaded it a long time ago. I also tried the command "/dl world", which should download the world I am currently in, but it also fails (Failed to upload file).

  13. Hello,

I can't download my overworld (Failed to upload file). I can download the nether (107 MB) and the end (34 MB). The last backup of my overworld that I have is 414 MB, and I explored a lot of terrain with an elytra since that.

Is there a limit size for downloading worlds? I am not aware of any limit since Minehut moved to its own download service.

I used the command "/dl world ul_world". The command is correct.

    Please help me.

  14. Yes it's true, I have made a post about this :

I hope moderators are aware that file.io has changed its free plan. Last time I asked, they said that it was because file.io is down. They need to fix it!

  15. Hello,

Since like 2 weeks, downloading worlds that are > 100 MB do not work anymore. The reason is that file.io has lowered the maximum file size from 5 GB to 100 MB for the free version.

There is a comment on this post

that says exactly this. I verified with the wayback machine :

    - 22 June / 5 GB max (search '5' to find the paragraph) : https://web.archive.org/web/20200622111729/https://www.file.io/

    - 11 July / 100 MB max (search '100' to find the paragraph) https://web.archive.org/web/20200711112130/https://www.file.io/

This is why I can download my Nether (< 100 MB) but not my Overworld (last backup says > 100 MB for the overworld).

Not making backups of a world can be extremely dangerous. Me and my friends have played on our world a lot. Loosing it all could affect us irl really bad. A Minecraft world has a huge sentimental value.

Please, provide Minehut users with a way to download our worlds. I'm sure that a lot of other players are concerned about this.

    Cordially
