Edit: One whole year later, and still no response on 99% of plugin request/update requests. Wow. Anyway, this plugin is now outdated, as the latest tested version is 1.15.

+1, skellet is in need of an update, to answer OP, client side borders were added in 1.9.5A, while minehut has 1.9.6B, updating to 1.9.6B+ would also add things like bossbars, corpses, and much more

Their skunity page shows that the latest supported version is 1.12 https://forums.skunity.com/resources/sharpsk-1-8-1-12.72/ For "armor and other stuff", you can do things like set helmet slot of player to diamond helmet in vanilla skript.
