  1. Bukkit is the software behind most servers that run plugins and it's what Spigot, Paper and many others are based on. Removing Bukkit would also remove the ability to add Bukkit plugins to the server and many of the performance optimizations wouldn't be there anymore.

  2. Have you made sure that the subdomain you're trying to connect to isn't misspelled? Can't resolve host name mean's that the server doesn't exist on that domain.

  3. If you're talking about the type of ranks that you can give people in your server you'll need a permission plugin like LuckPerms or PermissionsEx. Once you have one of these installed a default group will be created for you. If you're using LuckPerms you can create a new group using /lp creategroup <group_name> or if you're using PermissionsEx it's /pex group <group_name> create. These commands will create a group and you can create as many as you would like. Groups can hold permissions which gives ability for certain groups to have access to some commands. To promote someone to a group of your choosing you type /lp user <username> parent set <group_name> for LuckPerms, or /pex user <username> group set <group_name>.

    Hope I helped!

  4. You're correct about Minehut using BungeeCord, it's really the only way to achieve what they have done anyways. If you would like more detail on how they split up the servers on a network it's because each server is on it's own port connected to the BungeeCord port which is normally 25565. Let's say you create a server (I assume they have a BungeeCord plugin that manages this), it would automatically create a new instance for you and assign a port to that server so essentially it uses the same IP as Minehut but on a different port like 25580 and so forth. Then Minehut creates a sub domain (example.minehut.gg) depending on your servers name which simply routes it to your server using the IP & port.

  5. The reason why you're able to use those commands is because you're OP meaning you have all of those permissions. By default users won't have these permissions unless the plugin has it setup that way. You'll need to download a permission manager like LuckPerm's or PermissionsEx. This will allow you to create groups and assign permissions to specific groups or users. This is where you allow users to be able to access the warp and plot permissions.

Hi there, while im not complaining about having a free MC server provided by Minehut, I am a bit disappointed that the Maximum view distance is only set too 10. This is something to change in the server.properties config in the files, but it seems to be blocked out to not be edited. Im guessing to limit the player numbers so they can make money by providing more player servers. Im wondering why they limit the view distance and if it can be changed to at least 20-25 (32 would be amazing). Or if this is a "premium" feature. Thanks for the help!

View distance is limited to 16 on the server-side and won't increase anymore than that. Having a higher view distance will cause some problems with performance too. It's always been safer to set the view distance to 8 or below to prevent issues arising.

  7. Hey! Yes, there are a couple of plugins for that kind of thing but for world borders you can use MC's vanilla commands for that using /worldborder or use the plugin called WorldBorder instead.

For protecting your spawn and other areas you could use WorldGuard (Requires WorldEdit installed) which then you can select the two points of the region you want protected and initiate the command /rg define <region_name>. <region_name> being replaced with what you would like to name the region, then this will protect your region by default.

Sounds great but you can also use CraftingStone. Its amazing, they take a smaller cut from your sales and its all free. If you choose to go premium than its far cheaper than Tebex ever will be. They also have a way more advanced system for adding commands to purchases and everything. You should really check it out.

I've tried CraftingStore before and I didn't agree with it most of the time. I've been using WooMinecraft, it's less known but you have 100% complete control over what you can do and you host everything yourself and t's completely free without any drawbacks.

  9. Heya! I'm Perkus, also known as Maximus IRL and i'm from the United Kingdom. I found Minehut after a friend needed help setting up his server and it so happened to be hosted on Minehut, I was immediately curious and wanted to explore more of it.

I've been playing MC for about 9 years now with around 6 of those years being spent making and helping people open servers so I have quite the itinerary of experience.

I'm a content creator, developer and a builder too, mainly building experience. My favourite colour is blue, I love blue so much! I'm not much of a talkative person as I like to keep to myself most of the time and listen to my music while I do things in my spare time.

Anyways, that's pretty much everything you'll need to know about me, if you would like to know more i'm open to questions.

    Thanks for reading my introduction!
