Stop overwriting custom servers' resource packs with this and ruining people's playing experience

For a few months now, Minehut has applied their resource pack to me and my friends upon joining the lobby. No problem, right? However, Minehut keeps shoving this resource pack down our throats even out of the lobby and in our server, replacing our server's custom resource pack. Since our server has many custom items and heavily relies on this resource pack, the Minehut resource pack overwriting it essentially renders the server unplayable. I've checked that the resource pack is still installed on the server. I've tried changing my Minehut settings to "Resource Pack: prompt", this disables the Minehut pack, but does so to our custom resource pack as well until I click download, at which point it applies Minehut's resource pack again... I've searched around the internet for threads on this issue, but so far only found one comment, which was completely ignored by the Minehut moderator before they locked the thread: Minehut, wtf are you doing?!
