i was doing it wrong the entire time lmfaooo

i attempted to give myself op and whatnot on my server and it told me "Unknown command. Type "/help" for help." I then went on to type /help and it told me "Unknown command. Type "/help" for help." and it's just an endless loop of me typing /help and it telling me the same thing.
