Currently working on a new painting since last night. I decided to go for a completely new approach; no sketching and painting in grayscale first. Every time I do an artwork, I always sketched it and sometimes sketch it 2 more times until I get what I like. Then the lineart, then color. The problem with the lineart for me is that I can't shade like what you see right now. I have to cell shade (which means like blocky, 2-3 tone shading with no blend.) I decided to go for this, and I am absolutely loving it so far!
After I get all the details done in grayscale, I will then start coloring it in. Hopefully *that* goes well. Haha.
Also, if you guys have some suggestions, please say! I wanna hear your ideas! As of now, I have some next steps to do, including a carved design on his head (don't worry, he's some cybernetic robot birb or whatever, heh) and potentially some blue lightings/designs. Stay tuned!
