  2. Hello everyone! Today I’m happy to finally be releasing the Minehut Yearbook. This has been in the making for an extremely long time. Words cannot express how many edits, updates, and redrafts have been made. This would not be possible without all of the Yearbook team, who are mentioned below as well as in the Yearbook. Yearbook Team: @SilentF1ame - Graphic Designer (Silent was amazing throughout this entire process and everything would not be possible without him. 12/10) @Reassembly- Writer - Servers @Houlton - Writer - Major Minehut Updates @_Tarna_ - Writer - Staff Member Archive @Migins - Writer - Changes within the Team @myself - Lead Coordinator for the Yearbook. This included writing multiple sections, editing, compiling, getting opinions, and a lot more stuff. All four writers were great about deadlines and were amazing members. They’ve also been great about finding typos in drafts that we’ve sent out. Without them, this Yearbook wouldn’t be as error-free. A round of applause please for them! @Santio71 - Master Typo Finder/Screenshot Librarian @Jbean10 - Responsible for screenshots of awesome Events Team builds. @BennyDoesStuff - Helped assist with information from years ago and helped make posting this possible. @The Entire Events Team - They helped us find many errors and improvements to be made. @Trent - The man, the myth, the legend. He approved the initial project and has helped this remain possible the entire time. @Mr_Kurtis- An absolute gamer. He’s worked with me this entire time and helped me ensure that we would be able to deliver. @You - For reading this :). The rest of the details are in the Yearbook, so I won’t waste any more of your time. Read on, and be sure to leave us feedback at the link found within the book. Thank you! https://bit.ly/MHYearbook

  3. Some changes that could be applied to MINEHUT in the future to make the server better I would like to give some advice to MINEHUT staff members and the MINEHUT in general, i feel like that even if the muted player can't speak in chat nor private chat. But I think that MINEHUT should allow them to speak in private chat to the people on there friend list. and when a person advertises without /ad, the staff should see at least 2 illegal adverts from the advertising player before muting the player, not just seeing one, then mute, since this brings a disadvantage to new MINEHUT players and people who never saw the rules. I hope that MINEHUT can make a change to this since this will help the server alot. Thank you.

  7. M I N E H U T C O M M U N I T Y G U I D E HOW TO KEEP YOUR ACCOUNT SAFE LAST UPDATED: 06/01/2021 General Information As a Moderator on Minehut it's our responsibility to ensure that everyone's experiences within Minehut are fulfilled to the fullest and in the most positive of forms. Account breaches aren't something we have to deal with often on Minehut but like in every community these things can & have occurred, preventing them from occurring going forward is my objective. Within this guide I'm going to be covering everything from how accounts get compromised to how you can protect your account from being breached and keeping yourself safe online. Let's get started. How do accounts get Compromised? Phishing: Phishing is a type of cyberhack that uses E-mails, SMS phone, or social media to lure a victim into giving out their personal information unknowingly. Fortunately, they are quite easy to identify. Here is what Phishing attacks usually entail. • Asks for sensitive Information » Legitimate business's will not ever request personal information/will not send a link outside of their domain such as Passwords or emails. • Uses a different domain » For example, a message from Amazon would come from @amazon.com • Contains links that don't match the domain » Hover over the link to see if it will take you to the correct place. Make sure it's a "https" link. • Uses poor spelling & grammar » official messages/companies would never send grammatically incorrect messages. Cracking: Cracking Accounts is a method used to breach users passwords. It basically is a system that simulates tons of password combinations in order to access what they're targeting. Creating a strong Password Creating a strong password is a necessity in order to combat hackers gaining access to your account. To generate strong passwords we advise visiting this website here. You can also use applications such as Dashlane/LastPass to privately store passwords. Creating a strong password usually means that it's going to be something difficult to remember which is why a secure service is needed to store them. Below are our recommendations to make your password stronger. Use a unique password for each account Use lengthy passwords Don't include personal information in passwords Keeping your Minehut Panel/Server Protected It's common for multiple users in Minehut to share their panels with people they trust in order to speed up the efficiency on server development or so a friend of theirs can access a world without them having to be present. When adding a user to your panel please make sure you fully trust that user, if a user has access to your panel account the damage can be devastating if they have bad intentions. In the scenario that your panel gets breached and is being used maliciously then we strongly advise you changing your password instantly so the player loses access to the account. Granting players/staff on your server OP is a normal occurrence, but can indisputably end up destroying the server and the hours of work you put into it. Luckily Minehut has ways to counter act this. Firstly, make sure you trust the user you're granting op towards. Know what their intentions are and try to keep a close eye on them if they start acting up suspiciously. If you believe they're going to do something malicious directed towards your server use these commands instantly: • /deop <username> & /ban <username> These commands allow you to quickly get rid of the player of your server, say for example the user managed to destroy parts of your server and banned you in the process. What you would need to do is go to your console and type /pardon <your name> and follow the commands above within the console. Then with Minehut's new Backup feature you can now restore your server to how it was before the attack happened. Creating a Backup Restoring a Server Core Protect FAQ | How to use CoreProtect. - Community FAQ - Minehut Forums Conclusion I really hope you learned something from this guide. If you would like to see any other guides feel free to comment them below. If you believe I left out any vital information feel free to contact me on discord @chillins#6666 and I will consider adding it to this guide. Remember, in the rare scenario your account was Compromised, make every effort to reach out to a support service to re-possess the account. If you find valid evidence of a user breaching your account don't hesitate to submit a report to our forums where our staff will do everything they can to assist the situation. 8. Hey, here's a quick & simple guide on how to op yourself. • Go to "minehut.com" > start up your server > dashboard > where it says "input server command" type "/op (username)" and you should be all set. Hope this helped!
